This past Saturday we were proud to present our 2023 Awards Banquet in Winnipeg. We honoured our best coaches, officials, players, teams, volunteers, and honorary members for their performances and/or contributions to the sport of baseball. The event was a great success, and we thank all those who came, enjoyed the evening, and celebrated another fantastic year of baseball with us. Janet McMahon is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Sport Manitoba. She has worked in sport administration for over 30 years, leading a variety of sport, funding, athlete, and coach development programs and attended and participated in provincial, national, and international Games, and worked for the Host Societies of the 1999 Pan Am Games and the 2017 Canada Games, both held in Winnipeg. She was also Sport Manitoba’s Director of Sport for five years before her current position. Her involvement in sports began well before her professional career, however. McMahon grew up in Brandon, MB, and she played a variety of sports such as cross-country skiing, cycling, and swimming.
