2022 Baseball Manitoba Awards Banquet Recap

This past Saturday we were proud to present our 2022 Awards Banquet in Brandon, MB. We honoured our best coaches, officials, players, teams, volunteers, and honorary members for their performances and/or contributions to the sport of baseball. The event was a great success, and we thank all those who came, enjoyed the evening, and celebrated another fantastic year of baseball with us. Guest Speaker: Jason Dickson

Jason Dickson, former Major League Baseball player and Olympian born in London, Ontario and raised in Miramichi, New Brunswick, is Baseball Canada’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO). His involvement with Baseball Canada began as an athlete back in 1991 when he competed for Canada and won a gold medal at the World Youth Baseball Championships in Brandon, Manitoba. He attended the National Baseball Institute (NBI) in Vancouver and shortly after was drafted in 1994 by the California Angels out of Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College. He pitched for Canada at the Olympics in Athens, Greece in 2004 to finish off his professional playing career. Jason then began his extensive career as an administrator and executive. He was the Executive Director with Baseball New Brunswick along with CEO positions at Sport New Brunswick, Mill Cove Nursing Home in Mill Cove, New Brunswick and at the YMCA of Fredericton. He served on Baseball Canada’s Executive from 2010 to 2016 as Vice President, was named President in 2016, and was then named CEO in 2021.
