Baseball Manitoba High Performance Social Media Coordinator

Responsibilities:

Baseball Manitoba is seeking a contracted employee to execute Baseball Manitoba’s social media plan for the Premier Baseball League (PBL). This individual will report to the Media and Communications Coordinator. They are responsible for upholding Baseball Manitoba’s Brand through written articles, communication, and social media posts for Baseball Manitoba’s Premiere Baseball League and Provincial Teams. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Administrate www.aaabaseballmanitoba.ca, which includes but is not limited to:
    • Producing feature stories and other unique coverage (articles, photos, videos, etc)
    • Manually add AAA Team Rosters to RAMP before the start of the 2026 season
    • Add/update game schedules for 13U, 15U, and 18U teams, for both the regular and playoff season
    • Add/update general information (contacts, diamond locations, resources, etc.)
  • Attending various youth and amateur games, tournaments, and events, and reporting on them via social media
  • Connecting with teams to create content for Baseball Manitoba’s PBL and Provincial Team social media accounts (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc.)
  • Assisting with the MJBL website and Social Media content
  • Assisting the Baseball Manitoba office staff with additional duties as required

The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong work ethic, high level of integrity and honesty. They must be attentive to detail and accurate in record keeping and possess an ability to work with a diverse constituency including players, parents, coaches, and volunteers. Baseball Manitoba will cover the phone plan costs and relevant charges during the time of hire. Baseball Manitoba will also cover mileage, meals and accommodations, if required, for any approved travel around the province. Successful candidates must submit to a police record/screening check.

Desired Skills and Experiences:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of baseball and a passion for the game
  • A desire to be in a journalism and media relations environment
  • Must have an excellent attitude and work well in a team setting
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and demonstrated organizational skills
  • Confidence in researching, writing, editing, and proofreading news articles
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Adobe Programs (Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, etc)
  • Familiarity with various social media applications.
  • The successful candidate must have their own vehicle and valid driver’s license, and a smartphone with camera capabilities (having a DSLR camera is not required but would be an asset).
  • Must be willing and able to work flexible hours (evenings and weekends)

Time of Work: Approximately 10 hours per week. April - August.

Compensation: $5,000 Honorarium
