Every year, all of us at Baseball Manitoba look forward to presenting our scholarships at Blue Cross Park. Last night, five Baseball Manitoba Scholarships, the Andrew Budge Memorial Scholarship, and three Field of Dreams Scholarships were presented to all recipients before the Goldeyes faced off against the Gary Southshore Railcats.

From Winnipeg, Tyler Mollons is a dedicated student-athlete and community volunteer, formerly part of Manitoba’s 17U Provincial and Home Run Sports’ 19U Varsity teams. Through Baseball Manitoba camps and Winnipeg Harvest drives, he has demonstrated leadership through service to his community. As a strong academic performer, he earned a scholarship to the University of Jamestown, where he will study Biochemistry and play collegiate baseball, with future plans to attend pharmacy school and make a difference in cancer care.

From Morden, Manitoba, Logan Lesser is an accomplished student-athlete and AAA baseball player with the South Central Cubs. He has represented Manitoba at the 16U and 17U levels, earning a Bronze Medal at the 2024 Baseball Canada Cup. Logan has also contributed to the sport through coaching camps and clinics. He will continue his academic and athletic career at Northeast Iowa Community College on a baseball scholarship, pursuing a degree in education.

Liberty Aime is a dedicated student-athlete from Clandeboye. She is a multi-year member of Baseball Manitoba’s Female Provincial Teams at the 16U, 19U, 21U, and Senior Women’s levels. Named Baseball Manitoba’s 2023 Female Player of the Year, she has captained multiple teams and led Manitoba to a major comeback against Nova Scotia at Nationals in 2024. Liberty now competes in Quebec’s elite Ligue Canada-Est and is pursuing a business degree at Nipissing University, continuing to train toward a future on Team Canada.

Ben Baydock is a dedicated coach, athlete, and recent graduate of Laurentian University’s Sports Administration program, earning Cum Laude honours. He has coached baseball with Bonivital since 2021, winning the 2022 11U AA Provincials and guiding multiple players as they worked to become provincial team athletes. He is a certified NCCP coach and dedicated Baseball Manitoba camp leader, while still having time to compete as a MJBL athlete and officiate as a high-level volleyball referee. This fall, he begins his Juris Doctor studies at the University of Manitoba.

From East St. Paul, Nicholas Dolhy is a passionate community leader and long-time baseball volunteer. As a certified umpire and Challenger Baseball Buddy, he has dedicated himself to making the sport more inclusive. He organized a coach training fundraiser that raised over $1,200 for adaptive equipment for Challenger Baseball athletes. Now pursuing a Biology degree at the University of Manitoba, Nicholas is driven by a strong desire to serve others and make a meaningful impact on his community.

From Winnipeg, Rhett Forbes has been a Baseball Manitoba member for 12 years, and is currently a catcher at the 18U AAA level with the Winnipeg South Wolves, where he’s won two City Championships and one Provincial title. Over the last three seasons, he has coached with the Winnipeg South Rust Busters camps and volunteers with Manitoba Challenger Baseball. Academically, he graduated with Honors of Distinction in 2025 and this fall, he plans to study business administration while playing for the University of Fraser Valley.
The Andrew Budge Memorial Scholarship is open to students entering the first year of a full-time post-secondary program at an accredited university or college. Andrew Budge was a talented Manitoba athlete from Winnipeg South who passed away suddenly in 2010 at the age of 24. Hockey, curling, golf, and of course, baseball were among his interests, and it was his passion and love for sport that inspired the creation of this scholarship. All of us at Baseball Manitoba want to thank Andrew’s mother, Wendy Budge, for coming to the event and presenting this scholarship.

Jack Antonio is a driven student-athlete and coach, graduating with a 92% average and honour roll status from Dakota Collegiate in 2025. He won a bronze medal with the Baseball Manitoba 17U Provincial Team at the 2024 Canada Cup, and he’s also a two-time Provincial Champion with Bonivital. Passionate about mentoring youth, he was an assistant coach for the Dakota Volleyball Club from 2023-2025 and also coached baseball through Home Run Sports Training Centre. This fall, he will attend Mayville State University to study math education and continue his baseball career.

From Miniota, Aiden Lewis has grown up in the game of baseball. He is a leader on and off the field, as he’s coached and officiated youth sports, run school intramurals, and earned Athlete of the Year at Birtle Collegiate in 2024. After overcoming a major ACL injury in 2023, he’s continuing his baseball journey at Okanagan College while pursuing a diploma in Athletic Therapy, turning a lifelong passion into a future career in sport.

Hudson Meek-Toews, a St. Paul’s High School graduate, excelled academically in 2025 with a 92-95% average and earned top honours in First Nations Studies. He is a dedicated baseball player for the West Winnipeg A’s and is a member of the Prairie Baseball Academy at the University of Lethbridge. Hudson also coaches youth athletes and works as a group leader at Camp Manitou. This fall, he plans to study history and law, aiming to balance academics and baseball with this scholarship’s support.
