PITCH CLOCK OPERATOR 

Duties 

• Monitor and reset pitch clock timers following every pitch. 

• Operate equipment quickly and efficiently including set up and shut down before and after each game. 

• Troubleshoot situations without delay and act accordingly to resolve technical or practical issues that may arise. 

• Remain attentive and focused at all times. 

• The Pitch Clock Operator will also be cross trained in operating the scoring and statistics software and may work additional games at those positions. 

• Perform other duties as assigned. 

 

Qualifications 

• Strong baseball knowledge is required. 

• Experience operating relevant equipment (scoreboard controllers, etc.). 

• Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment. 

• Superior problem solving and decision-making abilities. 

• Excellent communication skills. 

• Ability to think and act quickly. 

• Ability to work effectively with others. 

• Attention to detail. 

 

Physical Requirements 

• Ability to remain seated for long periods. 

 

SCORER/STATISTICIAN 

Duties 

• Make and announce all game decisions involving judgment calls based on Rule 9 of the Official Baseball Rules, clarifying scoring rules interpretation to club and media personnel when necessary. 

• Collect rosters, lineups, and other applicable information. 

• Keep a detailed record of the game, focusing on every pitch and play. 

• Operate equipment quickly and efficiently including set up and shut down before and after each game. 

• Troubleshoot situations without delay and act accordingly to resolve technical or practical issues that may arise. 

• Remain attentive and focused at all times. 

• The Scorer/Statistician will also be cross trained in operating the Pitch Clock and may work additional games at that position. 

• Perform other duties as assigned. 

 

Qualifications 

• Exceptional (and demonstrable) knowledge of the Official Baseball Rules, and especially Section 9 of the Official Baseball Rules. 

• Ability to clearly communicate information and to effectively clarify Official Scoring Rules and scoring decisions, when necessary, to club officials and others. 

• Demonstrate good judgment on applicable plays requiring decisions. 

• Attention to detail in keeping score and tracking game totals for each player and team. 

• Demeanor to accept constructive criticism and instruction, and patience to deal with critique of performance from various parties (i.e. clubs, players, media). 

• Experience operating baseball scoring software. 

• Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment. 

• Superior problem solving and decision-making abilities. 

• Excellent communication skills. 

• Ability to think and act quickly. 

• Ability to work effectively with others. 

• Attention to detail.
