Rookie League Jamboree

On Saturday, June 12, 2010, almost 1,700 children, 9 years of age and under will participate in the World's Largest Rookie Jamboree. Each region will host at least one Jamboree highlighting this province wide program that features the use of an ATEC Rookie Pitching machine to promote a high level of fun activity in a safe learning environment.
The intent is for Jamborees to be held in every region of the province. Ideally several local communities within each region will stage their own Jamborees. Each Jamboree will be participatory in nature and is designed to lessen the competitive focus. The program is formatted to promote fun and fellowship, as all teams will play several games throughout the day without the need to declare a champion.
Each rookie age participant will receive a Rookie Jamboree medal and a certificate of participation. There will also be a draw within each region to randomly select a team, which will participate in a Jamboree at CanWest Park on June 26, 2010.
To encourage participation, the Baseball Manitoba is providing grants of $ 100.00 towards the purchase of Rookie League pitching machines by local communities involved in the program. To be eligible the Rookie pitching machine must be purchased through Home Run Sports
