Baseball Canada has announced the names of 24 athletes invited to the Junior National Team’s (U-18) Selection Camp that will determine the 20-player roster that will represent Canada at the WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup in Thunder Bay, Ontario from September 1 to 10. Gladwyn was the former President of Baseball Manitoba (1983-1987), inducted into the Baseball Manitoba Honour Society (1987) WCBA Honour Society in 1991. He was also a founding member of the Manitoba Baseball Hall of Fame and a member of the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame.
Christopher Peters (Rosenort, MB) won the Pitch, Hit and Run competition in Minneapolis at Target Field in the 11/12 year old age category. He is one of the top thirty 11/12 year old boys in North America. Christopher will find out on June 26 if he is one of the top 3 players and gets the chance to compete at the MLB All-Star Game festivities in Miami, Florida on July 11. Christopher is the same player highlighted 4 years ago for the same competition (June 2013).

The DQ® Rally Cap Program is baseballs initiation program and is designed to enhance players' and coaches' first experience with the game. The program helps teams teach players the five FUNdamentals of baseball in a fun and safe environment. Players have the opportunity to perform different tasks in order to earn a colored Baseball Canada DQ® Rally Cap. Cap colors correspond with various levels of achievement. In Manitoba, the hats are distributed free to associations.
