Baseball Manitoba is proud to report that Phase 1: Return to Training has been going well. Signage is being delivered and hung at ballparks, sanitizing supplies are being accumulated and distributed and volunteers and players are adjusting to baseball under the new circumstances. Local baseball volunteers are working diligently to get the season started in a safe manner. Therefore, Baseball Manitoba has decided that Phase 2: Return to Competition will be able to resume slightly ahead of schedule. This is exciting news for those working towards playing baseball this summer.
Sanctioned baseball competitions may safely resume on June 24, 2020.
Prior to June 24, Baseball Manitoba will be posting a Return to Play 2.0 document that will supplement our original plan and further assist baseball organizations and players returning to play in a safe and fun a manner. Baseball Manitoba has created, packaged, and sent coach packages to associations throughout the Province with Return to Play details for coaches and Health and Safety Coordinators. This will further ensure that details are not missed, and the plan is executed by all members.
As our Province adapts and adjusts to Restore Safe Services, so shall baseball. It continues to be imperative that the baseball community works collectively to deliver programming completely in line with the Return to Play document and checklists. New checklists have been uploaded to assist all members as we transition to Return to Competition. As Practices, camps, clinics, and games happen throughout the season, these checklists will assist members with their responsibilities at each session.
As always, the health and safety of people in sport, including players, coaches, umpires, spectators, volunteers, and the public, is of the utmost importance to Baseball Manitoba. We are excited to see baseball competitions resume in Manitoba and will work diligently to keep it a fun, safe environment for our members and the public.
