Girls Baseball

NEW FOR 2018!

In partnership with The Canadian Women's Baseball Association and Toronto Girls Baseball, we are very excited to bring Manitoba Girls Baseball to the Brandon and Winnipeg this summer! Manitoba Girls Baseball is a development program for girls ages 4-12 who want to learn to play baseball, no experience necessary. Players learn the rules of the game and have fun while they’re doing it. We provide all-female coaching, uniforms, awards and skills training to all girls regardless of their ability. Memo:  12U Girls Provincial Baseball Team
Ladies and Parents
Girls and women have played baseball almost since the sport’s invention.  Today, approximately 1500 girls play youth baseball in Manitoba. Uniting this popular segment of baseball momentum in MBA to younger levels will require years of targeting and communication.  It will require direct involvement of coaches and parents to make it happen.
Baseball Manitoba and a passionate, the Girls Baseball Committee, and a group of interested groups of parents / coaches are in the process of putting together an inaugural Girl's 11U (Mosquito) program.  Players can be twelve years old in the calendar year.
Our mandate is to provide a place for young ladies to play baseball in an “all-girls" environments.  The goal is to develop and improve a baseball skill-set, and give these fledgling players an opportunity to develop on a wider Manitoba “stage.” Our aim is to grow girls’ participation by showing and providing them with a means to get involved.
Tentative goals for 2017 would include:
1.    Practices
2.    Exhibition games
3.    Couple of tournaments
If we can accomplish these goals, Manitoba Baseball will allow these young ladies a berth in a Rural “A” Provincial Tournament next season.
Please note that we are only augmenting other programs in place – not taking away! We would be working around other established teams, but at the same time provide more opportunities and introduce a new game to our female youth of the Province.
