In early June around 2,000 children, 9 years of age and under will participate in a Regional Grand Slam Jamboree. Each region will host at least one Jamboree highlighting this province wide program that features the use of a pitching machine to promote a high level of fun activity in a safe learning environment.
The intent is for Jamborees to be held in every region of the province in early June. Ideally several local communities within each region will stage their own Jamborees. Each Jamboree will be participatory in nature and is designed to lessen the competitive focus. The program is formatted to promote fun and fellowship, as all teams will play several games throughout the day without the need to declare a champion.
Each 9U participant will receive a medal. There will also be a draw within each region to randomly select a team, which will participate in a Provincial Grand Slam Jamboree at Shaw Park on July 17, 2017.
Be a part of the Jamboree. Contact the Baseball Manitoba office for more information.
